School Dance

Once a year, our gym transforms into a dance floor. Dance the evening away as neon lights lit up the room, kids wave their glow sticks, and all the best dance tunes are played! The whole family is welcome.

Ice Cream Social and International Game Night

Don't miss an evening of ice cream and games from around the world. Come with your entire family and get to know our community while playing soccer, cricket, board games, and other games from the many cultures that are represented in our diverse student body.

Make It Take It Craft Fair

Do you enjoy getting crafty? You'd be surprised by how many beautiful crafts and gifts you can create with just some string, beads, markers and other basic materials. We come up with some fun craft projects and provide the materials. You pick the projects you want and start creating! Bring your finished works of art home to decorate your room or give them to friends and families as homemade gifts!

Talent Show

It's time to show everyone that Twain kids have got talent! Cheer on our Twain students as they share their unique talents with our community. Grab a seat and get ready to be entertained by vocal tunes, dancing, comedy, magic and much more!

STEAM Enrichment

Explore Art!

Explore Art! is a volunteer run art curriculum sponsored by Twain PTSA. Volunteers receive training to become art docents who facilitate grade-level appropriate lessons in art elements, principles and techniques. The lessons culminate in an exhibition at the end of the school year called the Gallery Walk, where families can visit and enjoy a gallery filled with paintings, drawings, clay sculptures, and other works of art created by our students.

book fair

Twain PTSA partners with Scholastic to run our annual book fair. Students and families have the opportunity to browse a wide selection of books ranging from newly released and best sellers to award-winning titles and perennial favorites. Families have an opportunity to donate books to Twain classrooms. The PTSA receive a portion of all sales and uses this purchase books for Twain families in need.

SCHOOL PLAY

Every year, Twain students collaborate to put on a musical production for our community to enjoy. These musical productions provide our students with the opportunity to express themselves, learn new skills and work together toward a common goal. Tickets always sell out so don't wait until the last minute to purchase yours!

science fair

Our annual Science Fair features live science demonstrations, hands-on science activities, and loads of fabulous student science projects. Students present their projects to “visiting scientists” and some lucky attendees will win a door prize.

Engineering: Egg Drop

Our Egg Drop is a huge hit every year! Create an egg-protecting contraption and watch the crew of the Kirkland Fire Department drop the contraptions from the top of a ladder truck! Bring your creation from home, or compete in our engineering challenge to see if you can protect your egg using limited supplies and your own ingenuity.

Reflections

Reflections is a National PTA arts recognition program that helps students explore their own thoughts, feelings and ideas, develop artistic literacy, increase confidence, and find a love for learning that will help them become more successful not only in school, but in life. In response to a theme, students create original works of art in one, or all, of the available arts categories: Dance Choreography, Film Production, Literature, Music Composition, Photography, Visual Arts. Finalists from local PTAs may move to subsequent rounds with their council PTA, State PTA and ultimately the National PTA. 2021-2022 Reflections Details

STEM Night

They say that the best learning happens when you are having fun. And what is more fun than STEM night?  Our amazing community partners and awesome PTSA volunteers are on hand to present live demonstrations and fun hands-on activities for the entire family. Some of our past partners include DigiPen, Engineering for Kids, Microsoft, University of Washington, Mathnasium, and Seattle Eastside Young Engineers.
